About Unload & Unwind

WelcometomyblogWelcome to Unload and Unwind my name is Jenni not Trouble – don’t listen to my family they’re all a little crazy.  Other than me OF COURSE, I’m the only one who is able to take the high road and do so with great pride.  This pride has sadly led to many a tumble and slip but my wonderful and patient husband has never let me down when it comes to breaking my fall.

I suppose the thing most people notice about me [other than my charm and good looks – shh mum or I’ll put you in a home] is my generosity of spirit and my deep belief in sharing my opinion with anyone who will stand still long enough to hear it.

If you’re busy and don’t have time to stop and listen don’t fret I’m nimble and can expound even as I chase you down the street.  I’ve recently started this blog for all those who are unlucky enough not to have the benefit of my erudite opinions in person and I would dearly love to see you at Unload and Unwind again.

Custom-Home-Library-Design-580x471So come on in and sit a spell, we’ve all sorts of different things for you to look at. You’ll find the Category list in the sidebar if you want to browse or the home page will give you an overview of the most recent posts. Please make yourself at home and feel free to have your say [I certainly do] about any of the pieces you read.

I have always loved to write and eventually made a career out of it. Due to a number of reasons – which I’m quite sure will be covered over time I haven’t done as much of it recently outside of the work that I do. I’m hoping that as this blog grows so will I and I would love to have you along for the journey.

    1. Thank you I hope you enjoy the different categories – I certainly have gained a lot from the writing of them just as I have gained from the writings of others. Jen

  1. I enjoy my visits here hugely. The book nook always engages me and shows me something new to read. Just for fun puts a smile on my face every time! Your writing is so clear and vivid it is a pleasure to read. I learn a lot about global politics too. Looking forward to lots more posts, you are a natural story teller Jenni, more power to you!

    1. *blush* Thank you – I enjoy putting together the bits and pieces of this blog and the fun of writing for my own pleasure and not that of a client. But I have to tell you – I think your work is pretty darn good too. Will keep seeing you around the cyber neighbourhood.

    1. Pleasures all mine – have to say you remind me of a very good friend from when I was younger – Amanda. Lovely girl – nuts but loads of fun and always up for an adventure.

  6. I am originally from Berlin, Germany, Jenni. Having lived in NSW with my husband since 1959 I guess you can call us Aussies now.
We’ve been to Mackay once. Our youngest daughter was three at the time. So this would have been in June 1982! We’ve been to other parts of Queensland a few times and always enjoyed it for a holiday.

    1. Congrats on crossing the pond to down under – excellent choice if I do say so. Wow I was 12 when you were here last but I was also in Brisbane then which reduced even further the chance that we may have crossed past paths. Hope you have a good week and look forward to seeing you around the blogging sphere. Jenni

  7. Hi! Visiting from Holistic Wayfarer’s bog where you recently liked a post on race featuring me.

I like your about section: nice, condensed, and yet, makes me want to read more, so I’m a follower now.

    Best regards,

    1. Thanks – really enjoyed your post of HW and I think the race is a great idea. Mines going up Sunday or Monday – she said she’d let me know when – little nervous.

      1. Believe me I know that feeling, since it was my first time doing anything like this I was so nervous before it was published – It all worked out great, I had so much fun and I know you will – I’ll be sure to read yours.

  9. Just want to say thanks for following my blog. Sure hope you find some that entertains you reading as much as writing does for me. I have to tell you most, if not all, that you find on Uncle Bardie’s Stories & Such is a bunch of lies, some of them real whoppers. Cause what else is fiction but a lie told well. So enjoy.

  11. Pleased to meet you too! I think an about page is perfect when meeting a lot of new people. I have these parties once a month, so you can bring another link next time!
Have fun clicking on links and tell them, “Susie sent me.'” They should click back!

    1. Excellent I’ve been to two but have a teeny problem of overflowing email that really needs to be addressed pretty soon. Will see you at the next party – do you send reminders cause I can get a little caught up time wise?

  12. Hi Jenni, I know you have had a gazillion awards recently, but – you were the first person I thought of when I was nominated for these four amazing awards. I wanted to return the favour of my last award and also I thought that it might still be of interest to you as so much has happened in your blogging world since your last nominations! (Though of course I totally understand if you don’t have the time or would prefer not to participate again!) Take care, Lydia.

    1. Hey – normally I would be more than happy I just thought I should tell you that as I got so behind in everyones posts it may be awhile before I get to it so if you want to give it to someone else I understand. I think it’s important that I catch up and read the posts of those who are kind enough to keep up with mine but I’ve been a little distracted with family stuff (you know how that goes). Thanks again, and take care Jenni

      1. Oh that’s absolutely fine Jenni – I think you deserve them and if it takes you ages to get around to it, that doesn’t matter, and if you don’t ever get around to it or other awards come up in the meantime, that still doesn’t matter 🙂

      2. Thanks for understanding – I’ve just discovered I did something odd settings wise and I haven’t been getting everyones new posts so fixing that now. Just means there are more than I thought I had to catch up on.

By the way you too deserve the awards – I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts. Jenni
